UP to release annual incentives for employees

MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines (UP) is set to release the first tranche of the annual incentive grant (AIG) for its faculty and employees.

In a memorandum dated Feb. 7, vice president for administration Augustus Resurreccion said UP was granting the AIG to faculty, research, extension and professional staff (REPS) and administrative staff for their “dedication, productivity and creativity.”

The AIG will be distributed starting Feb. 14.

Under the memorandum, regular and non-regular employees expected to render at least four months of service to UP by the end of May 2024 will receive P7,000.

Newly hired employees may receive as much as P5,250 depending on the number of months served starting this year. The same amount is expected for employees who have rendered active service but were separated or are expected to be separated from the university by the end of May 2024.

Part-time employees who rendered service from Jan. 1 to May 31 will receive half of the benefits of full-time personnel, which can be as much as P3,500 depending on the months rendered.

Resureccion said disqualified from the AIG are employees under preventive suspension until the end of May, those suspended or separated from service for cause from Jan. 1 up to the date of payment, those on leave without pay and on absence without official leave during the period, and those with no employer-employee relations with UP such as consultants or experts.
