Philippine embassy in Saudi opens talks on solar power
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine embassy in Saudi Arabia opened a dialogue with company FAS Energy on solar power potential investments.
Chargé d’affaires Rommel Romato met with Marcus Schrauf, chief executive officer for Renewables (Solar) of FAS Energy to discuss potential opportunities to engage in the Philippine solar energy sector, leveraging Maharlika Investment Corp. and the country’s favorable geographic, weather and socio-economic conditions.
“This dialogue marks a promising step towards unlocking the Philippines’ solar power potential and accelerating its transition to a nation supported by a cleaner and more sustainable energy source,” the embassy said.
The Philippines has been actively pursuing clean energy solutions, with solar power playing a pivotal role in its national energy plan, according to officials.
The country’s vast natural resources and growing demand for electricity make it a prime target for solar photovoltaic investments, officials said.
