CALAX Aguinaldo exit toll collection starts today
MANILA, Philippines — Motorists who will use the Aguinaldo exit of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) will have to pay toll starting today.
In an advisory, MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MHI), the operator of CALAX, said P81 would be collected for Class 1 vehicles, P163 for Class 2 and P244 for Class 3 for the end-to-end use of the expressway.
MHI had allowed motorists to travel the segment of the expressway for free since it was opened to the public in November 2023.
Data showed that an average of 12,000 vehicles use the Aguinaldo exit.
“The implementation of the toll aids in the continuous maintenance and enhancement of our toll road while ensuring efficient and safe travel for our users,” MHI president and general manager Raul Ignacio said.
MHI built the Aguinaldo interchange to provide motorists an alternative route to Tagaytay City aside from Aguinaldo Highway, one of the busiest thoroughfares in Cavite.
The Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., the parent company of MHI, will invest around P12 billion this year and in 2025 for expressway expansion in southern Luzon. At least P8.17 billion will be spent for CALAX.
