Sariaya STL operations suspended

SARIAYA, Quezon, Philippines — Small-town lottery operations in this town have been suspended.

Mayor Marceo Gayeta ordered the suspension following the arrest of three people suspected to be collectors of illegal gambling operations.

Gayeta called the attention of the police concerning the manner of the arrest of the three.

The three were reportedly manhandled and forced into a vehicle following their arrest in Sitio Palomera, Barangay Lutukan Malabag.

Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, Calabarzon police director, said the policemen who arrested the suspects have been relieved from their posts.

Lucas assured the public that the investigation would be conducted with transparency and fairness.
