CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A man and his wife were found dead in their house in Tanauan, Batangas on Saturday morning.

The bodies of Allen John Umali, 38, and his wife Khegzy, 36, were found by her sister, Rhaziel Badillo, in the bedroom at around 7:20 a.m.

Badillo told police that she went to the couple’s house in Barangay Darasa after her sister failed to reply to her messages since Friday.

“The couple bore gunshot wounds in the neck and their hands were tied with duct tape. A 9mm pistol was found near the head of Allen,” Lt. Col. Apolinario Lunar, Tanauan City police chief, said.

The Umalis were operating shuttle services for workers of an industrial company.

“There was no sign of forced entry or struggle. The victims’ belongings such as cell phones, cash money, jewelry and other important things are intact. The woman was in bed, looking like she was sleeping beside her husband. She was covered with a blanket,” Lunar said.

He said they were waiting for the results of the paraffin tests conducted on Allen.

“The forensic team found five 9mm bullets in a cabinet,” Lunar said.
