Wetland Center Museum inaugurated
MANILA, Philippines — The Wetland Center Museum located at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) was inaugurated yesterday to mark World Wetlands Day, which is observed on Feb. 2 each year.
In a statement, the LPPWP said the museum is envisioned to become “a focal point for education, research and awareness, providing visitors with an immersive experience that underscores the importance of wetlands in maintaining biodiversity.”
It noted that the occasion signifies a “significant step forward in conservation and appreciation of wetland ecosystems.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez and Sen. Cynthia Villar.
Representatives of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources also graced the event.
