MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck east of Surigao del Sur yesterday morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was recorded 92 kilometers east of Lingig at 5:35 a.m.
Phivolcs said there were no expected damage or aftershocks from the quake.
The temblor was tectonic in origin and had a shallow depth of focus of one kilometer.
There was no reported intensity due to the quake.
