MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District has confiscated illegal drugs valued at P137.61 million since September last year, the QCPD reported yesterday.

QCPD director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said the drugs were seized in 696 law enforcement operations from Sept. 1, 2023 to Jan. 28.

The drugs include kush, marijuana leaves and shabu.

“This achievement reflects the QCPD’s commitment in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the city,” Maranan said in a statement.

The Novaliches police station posted the most number of anti-narcotics operations with 70, which resulted in the arrest of 105 suspects and confiscation of P56.87 million worth of drugs.

The Batasan police station is second with 69 operations, 114 suspects arrested and a drug haul of P3.92 million.

The third unit is the Payatas Bagong Silangan police station, which arrested 135 people and confiscated P19.88 million worth of drugs in 67 stings.

The suspects are facing complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

“Through our intensified campaign against drugs and continued collaboration with local government agencies, community stakeholders and the public, the QCPD aims to create a safer and drug-free environment for Quezon City residents,” Maranan said.
