MANILA, Philippines — At least 150 barangay health workers (BHWs) in Valenzuela City received Level 2 certification from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Monday.
According to the city’s public information office, the BHWs underwent comprehensive TESDA training, lectures and demonstrations from October to December 2023.
The initiative aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of BHWs in local health services management.
The lectures equipped BHWs with various skills, including basic first aid application, working within a community development framework, implementing health promotion and community interventions, as well as immediate response to emergencies.
