MANILA, Philippines — The official Facebook page of Parañaque City’s public information office (PIO) was hacked on Saturday.

In an advisory posted on the Facebook page of the city’s tourism office, the local government urged the public to refrain from engaging with the hacked account.

“This is to inform the public that the official Facebook page of the Parañaque PIO had been hacked,” city hall announced. “The administrators do not have access to the account as of the moment.”

The city government asked the public not to engage in any activities being made through the Facebook account.

According to the PIO, updates and announcements will temporarily be posted on the Facebook page of the Parañaque City tourism office until the hacked account is recovered.

Following the hacking, multiple random videos were posted on the city PIO’s Facebook page.

The videos were still on the PIO’s account as of yesterday afternoon.
