CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — An employee of a cockpit arena lost P700,000 in cockfight derby revenues to an unidentified man, who allegedly robbed her at gunpoint in Alfonso, Cavite yesterday morning.

Inah Kathleen Mendoza, cashier at the Alfonso Cockpit Arena in Barangay Mangas 2, told police that she stepped out of the arena carrying the money with her.

She said she was about to board a tricycle, driven by her companion Eric Jimeno, when a man poked a gun at them.

Mendoza said she tried to run back to the arena, but the gunman shot her and missed, causing her to fall to the ground.

The suspect took from her the eco bag containing the money. Investigation is ongoing.
