3 dead, 26 hurt in Bataan multi-vehicle crash

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga , Philippines — Three people died and 26 others were injured when a passenger bus crashed into five vehicles in Dinalupihan, Bataan on Wednesday night.

A report by Bataan police chief Col. Palmer Tria identified one of the fatalities as Camille Isidro, 25.

The two unidentified fatalities are male.

A report reaching Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Central Luzon police director, showed that the accident occurred when Edwin Sandoval, driver of an Arayat Liner bus, lost control of the wheel along the Olongapo-Gapan Road in Barangay Bangal.

The bus hit a motorcycle, two tricycles and an L300 van then collided with a passenger jeepney in the opposite lane.

All the drivers and passengers of the six vehicles were brought to the James Gordon Memorial Hospital, where three were declared dead on arrival.

Sandoval faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple physical injury and damage to property.
