1 hurt in Parañaque fire

MANILA, Philippines — A 47-year-old man was injured when a fire broke out in a residential area in Parañaque City on Tuesday night.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said Roderick Anda suffered first-degree burns on his arms.

A BFP report showed that the blaze started around 11:32 p.m. in a residential area owned by Melcro Resort Leisure Phil. Corp. in Barangay Tambo.

At least seven fire trucks responded to contain the fire that reached the first alarm. The fire was put out at around 12:20 a.m.

Arson investigators said the fire started in the laundry area but they have yet to determine the cause.

No one was reported killed in the fire, which destroyed property worth P320,000.
