Maguindanao del Sur school principal shot dead

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines — An elementary school principal in Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao del Sur was killed in a gun attack on Monday.

Mamadatu Dalandas of Datu Tecson Elementary School was on his motorcycle when he was attacked in Barangay Manungkaling in Mamasapano, town police chief Lt. Lou Christian Villones said in a report to Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police director Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza.

Nobleza directed the Sultan sa Barongis police and intelligence agents of the Maguindanao del Sur police to investigate the incident.

On Nov. 15 last year, Hermielex Kapusan, principal of the Tukanakuden Elementary School in Barangay, also in Sultan sa Barongis, was killed in an ambush in Lambayong town.

Kapusan was also on a motorcycle on his way to the town proper when he was waylaid in Barangay Tinumigues.
