MANILA, Philippines — Minimum wage earners in Davao region may get an increase in their home pay after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) set a hearing on possible salary adjustments for local workers.
The National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) yesterday said that aside from the minimum wage earners, the RTWPB would also discuss the salary hike for household workers or kasambahay.
The hearing on the wage adjustment for workers in the private sector and kasambahay will be conducted at the Grand Regal Hotel in Davao City on Feb 7.
Interested parties may attend the hearing from 1 to 5 p.m. through Zoom.
Earlier, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported that among the 16 regions, only Davao has yet to approve a salary hike.
The DOLE said that of the 16 RTWPBs, 11 have granted salary increases to household workers.
Most RTWPBs issued wage orders motu proprio.
