Go leads turnover of South Cotabato Super Health Center
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go attended on Wednesday the turnover and blessing of a Super Health Center in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.
During his visit, the Sangguniang Bayan presented to the senator a resolution declaring him as an adopted son of Lake Sebu for his contributions to the development and progress of the town and its people, particularly in health care.
As the lead implementing agency, the Department of Health has been instrumental in identifying strategic areas for establishing Super Health Centers, focusing mainly on municipalities that lack accessible hospitals as well as geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.
Go said Super Health Centers are “pivotal in bridging the gap between the government and its citizens.”
He underscored their primary functions, including primary care, medical consultation and early disease detection.
Super Health Centers offer various healthcare services, including database management, outpatient care, birthing, isolation, diagnostic (laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound), pharmacy and ambulatory surgical unit.
Other available services are eye, ear, nose, and throat; oncology centers; physical therapy and rehabilitation centers, and telemedicine.
Go said funds have been allocated to construct more than 700 Super Health Centers nationwide.
