MANILA, Philippines —  The Senior High School (SHS) program of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSUD) is offering pop culture electives on Taylor Swift, K-pop and Spongebob Squarepants.

In a Facebook post on Jan. 12, the DLSUD-SHS said it is adding to its portfolio of creative subjects on literature and pop culture an elective on Swift that tackles her discography, which has piqued the interest of scholars abroad and in the Philippines.

“Dive into the enchanting world of Taylor Swift and explore the musical artistry that has captured hearts worldwide. This elective is your backstage pass to the magic behind the melodies,” DLSUD-SHS said.

Last week, the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communications in Diliman announced that it would offer the first college course in the country on Swift titled “Celebrity Studies: Taylor Swift in Focus.”

The university’s SHS program will also offer electives on biking and Spongebob Squarepants, one of the longest running animated television shows in history.
