MANILA, Philippines — Security screening officers from the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) at the Clark International Airport intercepted 2.9 kilos of shabu on Sunday.

The illegal drugs were detected during x-ray scanning and physical examination of two bags at the final security checkpoint.

The bags are owned by South Koreans Seonghae Lee and Eunhye Kwak, who were bound for Incheon, Korea on Jin Air Flight No. LJ030.

The two foreigners were taken into custody for investigation.

“The successful interception of these contrabands is truly commendable. This might not be our primary mandate, but the vigilance of our OTS personnel resulted in the protection of our transportation facilities from becoming a venue for illegal activities and other acts of unlawful interference,” OTS Assistant Secretary Jose Briones Jr. said.
