Holidays in Cebu, Laguna areas declared

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has declared Jan. 15 and Feb. 6 as special non-working holidays in San Pablo City, Laguna and Consolacion, Cebu, respectively.

Proclamation 441 declared Jan. 15 a holiday in San Pablo to pave the way for the celebration of the Coconut Festival.

“It is but fitting and proper that people of San Pablo be given opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” the proclamation read.

Coconut is one of the main products of San Pablo.

Meanwhile, Proclamation 442 declared Feb. 6 a special non-working day in Consolacion for the observance of the town’s 104th founding anniversary.

The declaration will give the people of Consolacion opportunity to celebrate the occasion, the directive said.

The proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority of the President on Jan. 8.
