MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go, in coordination with Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco and Mayor John Rey Tiangco, had his team visit the city on Monday to assist families whose homes were destroyed or damaged in a recent fire.
Go’s Malasakit Team distributed financial assistance, grocery packs, containers of water, snacks, meals and shirts to 47 families at the Barangay Tanza annex covered court.
Go’s staff also gave away mobile phones and shoes to select recipients.
He told the families not to worry about the material possessions they lost.
“Money can be earned, but money cannot buy a life. A lost life is a lost life forever,” Go said in a video message.
Go, who chairs the Senate committee on health and demography, said there is a Malasakit Center at the Navotas City Hospital where the fire victims may seek assistance should they need medical-related support.
Malasakit Centers provide access to medical assistance programs by various agencies for indigent patients.
