Man breaks into Quezon City house, stabs couple
MANILA, Philippines — Police have launched a manhunt for a 37-year-old man who reportedly broke into a couple’s home and stabbed them in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
The couple, a 27-year-old man and his 25-year-old partner, and their two children were sleeping when the suspect, identified as Renante Garcia, broke into their house on Boni Serrano Avenue in Barangay Bagong Lipunan ng Crame at around 5 a.m.
Investigators said the suspect went to the couple’s room and lay on top of the woman.
When the woman’s partner woke up, Garcia stabbed the victims with a knife.
The suspect fled from the scene as the victims’ neighbors sought assistance. The victims were brought to a hospital, where they are recuperating from their injuries.
Police are conducting a probe to determine Garcia’s motive.
