MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives seized more than three kilos of shabu valued at P20.7 million in Mandaue City, Cebu yesterday.

The illegal drugs were recovered from a woman who was arrested in a sting in Barangay Casuntingan, Central Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said.

He said the suspect, whom he did not identify, is a ”high-value” target in the region.

He said the illegal drugs were supposed to be distributed not only in Mandaue but also in the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Cebu as well as other parts of Cebu province.

“The arrested female suspect had been distributing two to three kilos of shabu every week. Her neutralization is pivotal in our drug supply reduction strategy,” Aberin said.

In Cotabato City, anti-narcotics agents said shabu valued at P4 million was seized from S/Sgt. Mujeeb Bitayo Sepi of the Sultan Kudarat police and his companion Farida Alfonso on Friday night.

The two did not resist when collared after selling the illegal drugs to undercover agents along Quezon Avenue.

In Bulacan, shabu worth P170,060 was confiscated from eight suspects in drug stings in San Jose del Monte, Sta. Maria, Malolos, Plaridel, Calumpit and Pulilan in the past two days, according to reports reaching provincial police director Col. Relly Arnedo. — Ramon Efren Lazaro
