MANILA, Philippines — A fire reportedly caused by a stray firecracker razed a house in Barangay Arkong Bato, Valenzuela, leaving one person injured on Monday night.
Rolando Cruz Brillo suffered injuries on his left wrist, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Arson probers said the fire, which reached first alarm, started at past 10 p.m. and was put out after 20 minutes.
Cruz, in an interview on News5, said he went back to the house to evacuate its occupants.
Barangay Arkong Bato captain AJ Feliciano said residents reported that someone lit a firecracker, which struck Brillo’s house, causing the fire.
Authorities said they are investigating the incident to identify the person who lit the firecracker.
