Taguig exempts jobseekers from securing mayor’s clearance
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Taguig has approved an ordinance allowing people to apply for jobs without securing a mayor’s permit or clearance.
The city council recently passed Ordinance 109, exempting jobseekers from submitting a mayor’s permit or clearance.
Under the ordinance, private employers in Taguig should no longer require job applicants to secure the document.
With a more simplified process, Mayor Lani Cayetano said the ordinance aims to encourage residents to actively seek employment.
“Our commitment is anchored in the constitutional mandate to provide full protection to labor and to promote full employment and equality of employment opportunities for all,” Cayetano said.
“We strive to simplify processes, making them more accessible for individuals contributing to Taguig’s vibrant workforce,” she added.
