1 charged in kidnap of 6 Chinese, 3 Pinoys

MANILA, Philippines — Criminal charges were filed on Friday against a suspect in the kidnapping of six Chinese and three Filipinos in Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa last Oct. 30.

The suspect, whom the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) identified as alias Alfred, underwent inquest proceedings before the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Manila.

The AKG referred complaints against the suspects for kidnapping with murder and car theft.

AKG director Brig. Gen. Cosme Abrenica said Alfred was arrested in Barangay Putatan in Muntinlupa on Dec. 28.

Abrenica said the suspect’s arrest was based on a month-long surveillance and follow-up operation

The suspect was among the six men who forcibly entered the victims’ residence in October at around 5:20 p.m.

The three Filipinos were released on the same day in Calauan, Laguna.

Abrenica earlier said four of the Chinese victims were found dead, two along Marilaque highway in Tanay, Rizal on Nov. 1 and the other two in Infanta, Quezon on Nov. 6.

The two other kidnap victims, a Chinese woman and her 11-year-old son, are still missing.
