MANILA, Philippines — Two kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P13.6 million were seized in Cebu City on Monday.

Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, Central Visayas police director, said the illegal drugs were confiscated from a ”high-value” suspect who was arrested in Barangay Punta at 7:12 p.m.

Citing intelligence reports, Aberin said the suspect, whom he did not identify, can sell an average of 500 grams per week in Cebu and Talisay cities.

The suspect reportedly took over the illegal drug trade of his friend, who was arrested in 2021.

In Marawi, six people were arrested for alleged possession of 600 grams of shabu valued at P4 million in Barangay Biaba Damag on Friday.

Brig. Gen. Allan Nobleza, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police director, commended the police for not lowering their guard during the holiday season.

In Maguindanao del Sur, Nesrin Adas and Almira Midtimbang were collared in a drug sting in Datu Odin Sinsuat town on Saturday night. The two reportedly yielded shabu worth P1 million.

Meanwhile, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Cordilleras uprooted and destroyed marijuana plants worth P275,000 in Kibungan, Benguet on Monday. — John Unson, Artemio Dumlao
