P20.4 million shabu, P2.65 million cocaine seized in Cebu, Quezon

MANILA, Philippines — Three kilos of shabu valued at P20.4 million were seized in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on Friday.

Central Visayas police director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin said anti-narcotics operatives confiscated the illegal drugs from a “high-value” suspect who was arrested in Barangay Gun-ob at 3:38 p.m.

Aberin said the suspect, whom he did not identify, was also caught with a .45-caliber pistol.

In Quezon, 500 grams of cocaine worth P2.65 million were recovered along the shore in Barangay San Lorenzo.

A resident who found the illegal drugs reported the incident to the police.

An investigation is underway to determine where the drugs came from. — Ed Amoroso
