BAGUIO CITY— The municipal government of the capital town of Mountain Province, Bontoc, is seeking the cooperation of all villagers to ensure a happy and safe Yuletide celebration.

Bontoc town’s elected officials, policemen from the Bontoc town, Bontoc Municipal Fire Station (MFS), and Municipal Health Office during the Municipal Peace and Order Council Meeting appealed for cooperation to ensure safe revelries during Christmas and New Year.

Bontoc police station chief Major Pedro Tactay said he is also soliciting the support of barangay officials to direct their Barangay Tanods (watchmen) to augment in the regular patrol being conducted by the Bontoc police.

Tactay also reminded everyone against firing their guns to maintain a peaceful and safe holiday celebration.

Bontoc fire station officials likewise reminded the public to use Christmas lights and decorations marked with Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) that verifies an item safe.

Municipal Health Officer Diga Kay Gomez meanwhile reminded every Bontoc villager to observe the firecracker law and the existing Municipal Ordinance no. 115, S. of 2007, that prohibits firecrackers to minors and regulates firecracker use or disposition, to maintain the municipality’s record of zero firecracker-related injuries.

Mayor Jerome Tudlong Jr. emphasized the importance of public cooperation in ensuring a peaceful holiday season.

 "Let us come together as a community to make this yuletide season safe and enjoyable for everyone. Your cooperation will undoubtedly contribute to a festive atmosphere that is free from harm,” he added.
