ANGELES CITY, Philippines — Up to 10,755 tricycle drivers and 1,737 jeepney drivers in this city have received five kilos of rice and other commodities as Christmas gifts from the city mayor.
Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. acknowledged the importance of the transport sector in the city’s continuous growth.
“This gift-giving activity for the transport sector was meant to thank the drivers for serving the residents and the city everyday. They are among those who propel the economy and the city toward progress,” Lazatin said.
On behalf of Lazatin, city transportation and regulatory department officer-in-charge Ferdinand Calma and transport command center chief Michael Lising led the gift-giving held on Dec. 8.
