Woman bribes cop to release drug suspect

MANILA, Philippines — A woman ended up in jail after she allegedly bribed a policeman to release a suspected drug dealer in Quezon City yesterday.

Charlotte Garcia, 25, is facing a complaint for corruption of a public official under Article 212 of the Revised Penal Code.

Garcia was apprehended along Sto. Domingo Avenue in Barangay Manresa at around 12:25 a.m.

The suspect allegedly gave P167,000 to a policeman in exchange for the release of her partner Richard James Gozum, who was arrested during a drug sting.

The police officer placed Garcia under arrest.
