Drug dealer to POGO workers held for compatriot’s kidnap

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man, reportedly supplying illegal drugs to compatriots working for Philippine offshore gaming operators, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of a Chinese businesswoman in Pasay on Nov. 23, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported yesterday.

The suspect, 32, was arrested along Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City at past 4 p.m. during a follow-up operation, according to the NCRPO.

The suspect, who was driving a car, slammed into a police patrol vehicle before speeding away. Police managed to block his vehicle following a brief chase.

Police recovered sachets of shabu and ecstasy as well as other drug paraphernalia from the suspect, who faces charges of attempted homicide, reckless imprudence, assaulting law enforcement and drug-related offenses.
