The plane, with tail number RP C-1234, was spotted yesterday in the jungles of the Sierra Madre mountain in San Mariano town by an aerial search team of the Philippine Air Force.
Reports said the plane took off from the Cauayan Airport in Isabela at 9:39 a.m. on Nov. 30. It was supposed to land at the nearby Palanan Airport at 10:23 a.m.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said the Philippine Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Center based at the Cauayan Tower received a distress message from the plane at around 11:08 a.m.
On board the plane were Capt. Levy Abul II and his passenger Erma Escalante.
The plane is owned by Fliteline Airways and operated by Cyclone Airways.
