MALOLOS, Philippines — A material recovery facility in an industrial park in Santa Maria, Bulacan was destroyed in a fire that occurred from Monday afternoon until yesterday morning.
Reports reaching retired Col. Manuel Lukban Jr., chief of the Bulacan disaster risk reduction and management office, said the fire – which lasted more than 14 hours – razed the waste facility of the Santa Maria Industrial Park located in Barangay Balasing.
The fire reached first alarm at around 3:50 p.m. on Monday and was declared out at 5:50 a.m. yesterday.
Six firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection and eight volunteer fire brigades responded to the incident.
No one was injured in the fire.
