Pampanga gives financial aid to ALS students
MANILA, Philippines — Pampanga province, under the leadership of Gov. Dennis Pineda, has distributed financial assistance to 1,195 graduates of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the province.
The initial beneficiaries included ALS graduates from Mabalacat (491) and Magalang (573) towns as well as 132 persons deprived of liberty or PDLs detained in the provincial jail.
Expressing gratitude to the Department of Education, Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab stressed the importance of providing education to Pampanga’s out-of-school youth and adult learners.
“I am delighted that, at their age, they still aspire to learn and complete their education. For them, it’s for self-fulfillment and the desire to secure employment. Nowadays, when you’re job hunting, a diploma is often a requirement,” said Cayabyab, who chairs the education committee.
Each graduate was given P2,000 in financial assistance.
