MANILA, Philippines — After four of six Chinese kidnapped from Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City last October were found dead, police yesterday urged the kidnappers not to kill the other two remaining victims.

Brig. Gen. Cosme Abrenica, director of the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), made the appeal for the life of the two victims, a Chinese woman and her 11-year-old son.

“Sana itong mga abductors na ito ay huwag na nila patayin ‘yung bata, ‘yung mag-ina na nawawala (I am asking the abductors not to kill the child, the mother and child who are still missing),” Abrenica told reporters in an interview.

The mother and son, whom Abrenica did not identify, were kidnapped by six armed men together with four Chinese and three Filipinos from the upscale subdivision on Oct. 30. The three locals were released the same day.

Abrenica said two victims were found dead along Marilaque Highway in Tanay, Rizal on Nov. 1 while the remains of the other two were found in Infanta, Quezon on Nov. 6.

Abrenica said the victims were killed by suffocation, based on the examination of their remains. There were no indications they were tortured.

The suspects have not called the victims’ relatives for any demand for ransom, Abrenica said.
