13 Pinays rescued from Pasay ‘sex den’
MANILA, Philippines — Thirteen Filipino women were rescued from an alleged sex den in a condominium complex in Pasay City on Saturday.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) raided the prostitution den based on a search warrant issued by a Pasay court.
Operatives from the PAOCC, Philippine National Police, Department of Justice and Armed Forces of the Philippines swooped down on the condominium complex.
Thirteen women, aged 21 to 32, reported to be victims of prostitution were rescued during the operation.
The victims told the PAOCC that minors were also sexually exploited. However, none were found in the building as they were reportedly transferred to Makati.
During the raid, two Chinese – Li Yang and Chen Yucui – were apprehended by authorities. They were said to be the operators of the prostitution den.
Their Filipina cohort, Edemae Falsario Epal, allegedly the one who took sexually suggestive photos of the victims for a “menu catalog,” was also arrested.
Two other Chinese nationals, Li Lei and Li Caiyuan, were found in the prostitution den. They were subsequently nabbed by the Bureau of Immigration after failing to present their passports and visas.
The PAOCC reported that the prostitution den was spread across eight rooms in three separate condominium towers.
Recovered during the raid were sex paraphernalia, including condoms, lingerie and aphrodisiacs.
Criminal charges have been filed against the suspects.
The PAOCC is also eyeing the filing of complaints for criminal and civil forfeiture against the owner of the condominium units used as a sex den.
