CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Up to 2,568 of 3,105 barangays in Central Luzon have been declared drug-free, police said yesterday.
Among the regions’ seven provinces, Aurora, Bataan and Tarlac recorded 100 percent drug-free barangays, according to Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr.
A total of 161 barangays regionwide are already drug-free.
Hidalgo attributed the achievement to the police’s continued anti-drug operations, which were conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
