Man shot dead in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Police have launched a manhunt for two people who shot dead a man in Quezon City on Wednesday.

The unidentified assailants shot Dennis Gamet at the corner of J.P. Rizal and Bucaneg streets in Barangay Sta.Lucia at around 5:10 a.m., according to police investigators.

Gamet had just left his house when the assailants arrived in the area on a motorcycle. The backrider pulled out a handgun and shot Gamet three times.

The victim’s brother, who heard the gunshots, went outside and came to his aid.

Gamet was pronounced dead on arrival at the Novaliches General Hospital.

Probers are searching for leads on the identities of the assailants. The motive for the attack is the subject of a follow-up investigation.
