MANILA, Philippines — Fourteen fishermen were rescued when their boat capsized in the waters off Calayan, Cagayan on Monday.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said the fishermen were onboard MB Agalexa 2 when they encountered rough seas within the vicinity of Ensenada Point off Camiguin Island.

The PCG substations in Calayan and Camiguin Island sent deployable response group teams to conduct search and rescue operations.

Three motorized boats rescued the 14 fishermen and brought them to Camiguin Island.

The fishermen were declared to be in good physical condition by the rural health unit.

In Mindoro, search and rescue operations were ongoing yesterday for Ritzie Yap who was reported missing after he went fishing in the waters of Roxas town on Saturday.
