Artemio Dumlao - The Philippine Star

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Residents and visitors in Baguio have been advised to wear warm but comfortable clothing after the city’s temperature dropped to 14 degrees Celsius yesterday morning.

Although the city’s temperature is usually colder during the so-called ’ber months, health experts warned that those who are not used to the weather could get sick due to the cold.

Yesterday’s temperature was the lowest recorded so far this year and is expected to drop further, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

PAGASA said that Baguio’s lower temperatures could last until February.

The lowest temperature ever recorded in the city was nine degrees Celsius on Jan. 16, 1963.

La Trinidad, Benguet’s capital town, also chilled at 14.3 degrees Celsius yesterday morning.

PAGASA said Baguio and Benguet would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the northeast monsoon.
