Gunmen kill live-in partners from Cagayan inside Cubao-bound bus

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Nueva Ecija policemen promised to thoroughly investigate the killing of live-in partners from Cagayan province inside a Cubao-bound bus along the national highway in Barangay Minuli, Carranglan, Nueva Ecija Wednesday.

The shooting, which went viral on social media, was captured by the CCTV of the bus from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The victims — Gloria Mendoza Quillano, 60, from Sta. Luciana, Cauayan City, Isabela and Arman Bautista, 55, who hails from Koronadal City, South Cotabato, reportedly boarded the bus in Cauayan City and were seated together at the front seats of the bus.

Two men, both clad in dark shirts and camouflage shorts, stood up from the rear seats. They approached the victims and fired 45-caliber pistols at close range, instantly killing the couple. Afterward, they instructed the driver to stop and immediately exited the bus.

After the suspects went out from the bus, the driver drove the bus to the nearest police station.

"The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office is actively investigating this heinous crime, and we assure the public that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly. Such acts of violence have no place in our society, and we condemn them in the strongest possible terms," the Caranglan police vowed.

The police is urging anyone with information related to the incident to help in identifying the perpetrators.
