Manhunt on for 3 Chinese who beat up compatriot
MANILA, Philippines — Police are looking for three Chinese men who beat up their compatriot in Quezon City on Monday morning.
The incident, which was witnessed by bystanders, occurred at the corner of Banawe and Cadiz streets in Barangay Tatalon at around 7:30 a.m., police investigators said.
The victim, a 34-year-old Chinese and resident of Barangay Plainview in Mandaluyong City, had just bought food from a fastfood restaurant when he was attacked by the suspects, who hit him with metal batons.
A barangay watchman and concerned citizens came to the victim’s aid, which prompted the suspects to flee from the scene.
Witnesses said the suspects boarded a Toyota Hi-Ace van with license plate NEU 2392 and sped toward an unknown direction.
Barangay public safety officers brought the victim to the nearest police station.
Police are searching for closed-circuit television footage that will aid them in identifying the suspects.
