Manager caught in stolen car
MANILA, Philippines — A 29-year-old woman is under investigation after she was caught inside a stolen vehicle in Mandaluyong City on Monday.
The woman, who works as an agency manager of a company and a resident of a high-end condominium in Barangay Highway Hills, was apprehended by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) along Pioneer street at around 11:55 p.m.
Prior to the operation, lawmen from the QCPD’s anti-carnapping unit received a tip about a Hyundai Sonata spotted along Pioneer street. The sedan was stolen from its owner, a 61-year-old physician from Barangay Culiat in Quezon City.
Acting on the information, police went to the area and approached the vehicle, which was parked along the road.
The woman’s male companion drove the vehicle and a chase ensued until Reliance street, where the driver fled on foot while the woman stayed behind.
The woman was taken into custody for investigation to determine if she could be held liable for violation of Presidential Decree 1612 the anti-fencing law.
