MANILA, Philippines — A roll-on roll-off vessel ran aground in the waters off Quezon on Monday.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Southern Tagalog district said MV Virgen de Peñafrancia I was on its way to San Andres Port in southern Quezon when it ran aground at 4:51 p.m. due to big waves and poor visibility.
The PCG deployed four boats, which brought 76 passengers and crewmembers to a terminal of the Philippine Ports Authority.
Divers from the Maritime Industry Authority, who inspected the hull of the vessel, found no signs of an oil spill.
The vessel was anchored at the San Andres port at around 7 p.m.
There was no reported injury from the accident.
