Public warned vs fake Nartatez social media accounts

MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office warned the public on Friday against fake social media accounts using the name and photos of NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

“We would like to inform the public that… Nartatez has no personal social network account,” the NCRPO said in a Facebook post.

According to the NCRPO, the fake media accounts circulating online were meant to deliberately “hoax, mislead, and deceive” the people.

The NCRPO has launched an investigation and coordinated with the police Anti-Cybercrime Group to identify and arrest those behind the accounts.
