Victim of phone snatching steals suspect’s motorcycle

The incident was publicized by Las Piñas police chief Col. Jaime Santos in a Facebook Live hours after the incident happened on 7 a.m. along Alabang Zapote road that day.

MANILA, Philippines — A victim of phone snatching in Las Piñas City stole the motorcycle of the snatcher, police said yesterday.

City police chief Jaime Santos identified the victim as Mark Russel Zapata, whose cell phone had been snatched along Alabang Zapote Road.

According to probers, the suspect got off his motorcycle and grabbed Zapata’s phone worth P10,000.

A fight between them ensued until Zapata managed to steal the key of the suspect’s motorcycle.

The victim took the motorcycle away, leaving the suspect with Zapata’s mobile phone.

Zapata drove the motorcycle to the Las Piñas police station and reported the incident.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who is a resident of Bacoor City in Cavite.
