9 suspects in student’s slay still at large

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District (MPD) is still on the lookout for at least nine men who beat to death a 20-year-old student outside a bar last Oct. 20.

Randall Rillon Bonifacio, 20, died at the Tondo Medical Center after suffering multiple injuries, most of them to his head, according to a report from the Manila Police District (MPD).

Closed-circuit television footage from Barangay 147 showed Bonifacio was attacked by around nine men who hit him with hollow blocks outside the bar along North Bay Boulevard, police said.

Bonifacio allegedly bumped into one of the men prior to the attack, according to earlier reports.

The MPD has identified some of the assailants, MPD homicide unit chief Capt. Dennis Turla told ABS-CBN News.

Bonifacio’s mother, Amelia, slammed the senseless death of her son, an incoming freshman at the Divine Mercy College Foundation Inc., at the hands of his assailants.
