UBRA celebrates fifth anniversary

CEBU, Philippines — The United Basketball Referees Association, Inc. (UBRA) marked its fifth founding anniversary with a simple get-together among its members last week at the Akeish Beach and Bar in Barangay Kawit, Medellin north of Cebu.

The special occasion was graced by UBRA VisMin commissioner Stephen Ababon, 5th District Commissioner Layson Gonzales, and 4th District Commissioner Garizaldy Pangilinan.

They were joined by chapter commissioners Janray Branzuela of Barili, Harry Manugas of  San Fernando, Melvin Maningo of Carmen, and Gerald Seno (VisMin Cebu Chapter),

UBRA is the official and exclusive referee of Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), a regionalized community-based cage league founded by boxing icon Manny Pacquiao in 2017.

They are currently under the leadership of their national president George Lim Magsino, who is also the technical head of MPBL. — (FREEMAN)
