40 held in Bulacan for poll gun ban violation
MANILA, Philippines — Forty people were arrested in Bulacan for violating the gun ban in view of the Oct. 30 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.
Reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, said 23 small firearms as well as eight replicas and improvised guns were recovered.
Also seized from the suspects were eight bladed weapons, explosives and 156 bullets.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man was arrested in Barangay Malumot in Paombong town yesterday for pointing a gun at a tricycle driver.
Responding policemen said a 9mm pistol and a magazine were recovered from the suspect.
