SAN JACINTO, Pangasinan, Philippines — The family of overseas Filipino worker Marjorette Garcia, who was killed in Saudi Arabia, received financial and livelihood assistance from the government yesterday.

Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration Administrator Arnell Ignacio and Department of Migrant Workers officer-in-charge Hans Leo Cacdac turned over the assistance to the family of Garcia in Barangay Awai in this town.

Garcia, a domestic worker, was found dead with stab wounds last month.

Her remains arrived in the country on Friday.

The provincial government of Pangasinan had earlier provided financial assistance to the family of Garcia.

Cacdac gave assurance that the government is doing its best to get justice for Garcia.

He said a former co-worker of Garcia, a Kenyan citizen, is now under the custody of the Saudi Arabian government.
